Message on Sustainability from the President
Our Progress in Sustainability Management
Our group has publicly announced its "SDGs Declaration," in which we endorse the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the Japanese government's "SDGs Action Plan 2020" since 2020. We have designated 2021 as the "First Year of SDGs" and are contributing to the realization of a sustainable society through promoting SDGs in our business, management that emphasizes ESG, and social contribution activities (CSR) rooted in our country and regions. Since then, our company has participated in various initiatives such as the United Nations' "UN Global Compact," "Global Compact Network Japan," and the "Women's Empowerment Principles," continuing our journey of sustainability management.
Currently, we are in the “second founding phase,” following the transition from the founder to a new management structure. We are currently exploring new directions for our business which would increase our corporate value as a group. Regardless of the direction we choose, our group will continue to fulfill our social responsibilities without stopping our advancements in sustainability management. In addition, we will aim to build a more sophisticated governance structure to facilitate our progress with these aims.
The important part of our SDGs initiatives and materiality is that we will achieve them through our main business activities. We believe that this approach will drive our company’s sustainability management, which in turn will contribute to the sustainability of society as a whole.
We will continue to make progress in sustainability management to promote sustainability management across our entire group.
